This would be a day to remember for the people of the city.
Emily Roggenburk woke up that morning and decided that she needed to capture this moment in a big way.
The moment we’re talking about is something the people of Cleveland, Ohio have waited for a long, long time. A championship parade in the streets of their city, this time thanks to the hometown kid, LeBron James, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. A massive sea of humanity gathered to witness the parade. We are all witnesses is a famous line in the lore of Cleveland sports, and it was perfect that all these people were witnesses to this historic moment.
Emily wasn’t sure how she would do it at first, but she knew photos from the ground wouldn’t do it justice. She called pretty much every helicopter company in Cleveland that she could find. The parade was at 11:00 AM. It was probably around 9:30 AM when she finally chartered a helicopter from Detroit. Everything fell into place all at once.
For one day, everyone came together. No matter your background or where you came from, everyone was united that day, and Emily was able to capture it. And frame it.
She is a great photographer and entrepreneur. We’ll be sharing more from her.
